[Jack] Today was a day for downtown sightseeing. And with the weather in the 60s and sunny - we weren't the only ones! Pike Place Market was packed and the downtown stores were busy and the waterfront had lots of tourists and locals strolling around.
Our first stop was the original Starbucks coffee shop in the Market. Here's a picture of the Iowan coffee drinkers in front of the Holy Mecca of coffee drinkers...
Next we strolled through the market past the fish stalls...
And the vegetable stalls...
From the Pike Place Market we strolled down to the waterfront and to the new Scupture
Garden at the north end of the waterfront. Lots of big sculptures in a great urban setting overlooking the water and with views back to the city and Space Needle.

A bus ride back down to the other end of the waterfront dropped us off at Ivars for fish and
chips (some of the chips we shared with the seagulls).
Then a stop at the famous Seattle Public Library (you can see the unusual architecture in the background)...
And a final stop at the Top Pot doughnut shop (Arlene saw it on one of the Travel Channel shows about the best doughnuts in the country) pretty much ended our downtown safari. The doughnuts are very, very good!
